Back in February we reported on the upcoming release of Deep Purple’s 21st studio album, Whoosh.
The album’s first single, Throw My Bones, can now be heard on YouTube, along with an accompanying music video.
The video features a person in an astronauts suit walking through a variety of scenes, from parks, to rushing rivers, along the highway, in the middle of nowhere, and so on, all the time observing the goings on around them. Meanwhile, the music is fresh and contemporary, yet clearly Deep Purple.
Ian Gillian, the band’s lead singer, described the new album’s name as being, “An onomatopoeic word that, when viewed through one end of a radio-telescope, describes the transient nature of humanity on Earth; and, through the other end from a closer perspective, illustrates the career of Deep Purple.” Sure, Gillian, sounds great.
