Global Citizen & WHO Present Together At Home Live Music Performance

With everybody keeping their distance from one another, we need to find a way to stay connected during these strange times. To that end, Global Citizen has teamed up with the World Health Organisation (WHO) to bring us a string of performances by artists who are currently self-isolating.

Never one to miss an opportunity to promote himself, Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay, kicked off the shenanigans on Monday. He was followed by an hour long performance by John Legend, who took requests from fans via Instagram.

The next performed will by songwriter Rufus Wainwright, who will take to the virtual stage this evening (5pm GMT via Instagram Live). Discussing the event during an interview, Wainwright said, “Now it is more important than ever for humanity to come together and realise that we are all one. This is a worldwide issue.”

The Together at Home initiative describes itself as follows: “Together At Home is an at-home experience launched this week by Global Citizen, the World Health Organization, and a group of exceptional artists, working to use music to unify people around the world when they may feel isolated by the conditions of COVID-19.”

We all need to find a way to stave of cabin fever and watching artists perform in their underwear is not a bad way to go about it.
